Holocaust Survivor Stories: Erna Sauer Bratt
Holocaust Survivor Stories • 31m
Born in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, Erna Sauer Bratt (née Steinfeld) (z"l) was 15 years old when Nazi Germany invaded Poland to start World War II. A survivor of three concentration camps, Erna resisted sharing her experience in the Holocaust for over 50 years before agreeing to tell her story through the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation in 1996. Now, 25 years later, this footage has been edited into a 30-minute account of Erna's life, including her experiences before, during, and after the Holocaust.
