Hear the Shofar
Jewish Life • 28s
We are called by tradition to blow the shofar every day of Elul (except Shabbat!), starting on the second day of the month and ending two days before Rosh Hashannah. The shofar is a call to repent, a reminder that this is the time of year we prepare to ask for forgiveness. As we are asked in Amos 3:6: “Can a shofar be blown in the city and the people not tremble?" We will hear the shofar blow one final time at the conclusion of Yom Kippur.
If you haven’t had a chance yet to hear the shofar blown, please enjoy the sounds of the shofar from members of our community.
